Katrina Swaringen, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

Katrina (she/her) is an intern working towards her master’s degree from UCCS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Katrina is a warm, patient therapist dedicated to helping individuals deepen their understanding of themselves and the reasons behind their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. With experience working with adults, including military personnel and their families in an outpatient setting, she provides a supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, navigate life transitions, and find meaning in their journey.

Katrina’s approach is grounded in existential therapy, which emphasizes self-awareness, personal meaning, and the freedom to create change. She believes that insight is key to transformation and works alongside clients to help them recognize patterns, clarify their values, and make choices that align with the life they want to live. While her approach is deeply collaborative and client-centered, she also provides guidance to support meaningful self-exploration and growth.
